Internal Medicine Residency Program

The Internal Medicine Residency Program at UNC Health Southeastern is sponsored by the Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine and is approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) to train 39 residents (13 per year). Clinical experience includes the core inpatient rotations, ambulatory clinics, and all subspecialties required by the ACGME. A rigorous didactic schedule is built around four hours of protected didactic time per week and includes book club, journal club, board review, and attending lectures. Most rotations occur within the hospital itself which is a 325 bed facility that sees on average 60,000 Emergency Department visits per year.
