Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information for Businesses

On July, 22, 2020, the CDC stopped recommending employers to require return to work COVID-19 testing. It is not necessary for asymptomatic employees. Employers may actually be putting their employees at a higher risk of contracting SARS-CoV-2 by being exposed at testing sites by symptomatic COVID-positive patients.  Mass screening of non-healthcare employees may reduce or eliminate a symptomatic patient from being tested in a timely matter. Employers should not require a healthcare provider’s note for employees to return to work. Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness, can recover at home without medical care, and can follow CDC recommendations to determine when to discontinue home isolation and return to work. Please refer to the CDC guidelines in the link below. We continue to encourage frequent hand washing, using sanitizers, daily temperature monitoring, wearing masks and social distancing.
