Do you accept payment plans?
The AccessOne® MedCard Outreach Program operates much like a revolving charge account or medical credit card for services offered by Southeastern Regional Medical Center not covered by insurance or any other third party payer like Medicare or Medicaid.
Is your facility accredited by American College of Radiology?
Yes, Mammography, Ultrasound, CT and Stereotactic Breast Biopsy departments are individually accredited by the American College of Radiology.
Are your technologists registered in their modalities?
Yes, SeRA only hires registered technologists.
Are technologists medical doctors?
No, technologists are trained in general x-rays and, if they choose, a specific modality such as mammography.
What does a technologist do?
The technologists are trained to properly position patients for each diagnostic procedure and to operate the corresponding diagnostic equipment.
What is a radiologist?
A radiologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnostic radiology. A radiologist is specially trained to interpret imaging exams or procedures to diagnose or treat your condition. Although radiologists are rarely seen by the patient, they play an important role in the overall health care equation. They supply your doctor with the information needed to provide the appropriate treatment or care based on the results of your imaging exam.
Are your radiologists board certified?
Yes. All of our radiologists are board certified by the American Board of Radiology.
Will I have to miss work?
Most of our procedures are routine and allow you to immediately return to work. There are some procedures that requires bed rest. We also provide Saturday and after hours on some locations. The amount of time you will miss from work depends on the procedure and you, the individual.
Is radiation safe?
Indeed, if your doctor has referred you for a diagnostic procedure, he / she feels the small amount of radiation is less harmful than an undiagnosed problem or disease.
Do the treatments hurt?
Most of the diagnostic procedures involve no discomfort whatsoever. However, some of the more invasive procedures may cause some mild discomfort.
