Community Health Services
The Community Health Services department is focused on four (4) major areas of health promotion - risk assessment, early detection, lifestyle modification and disease management. The Community Health Services staff offers free health screens, education programs and events designed to prevent, detect and/or manage chronic disease in high risk, underserved individuals, neighborhoods and communities. The major goal of Community Health is to reduce health disparities by providing services at the most cost-effective stage in the continuum of care.

Healthy Robeson
Healthy Robeson is a strong coalition of passionate citizens from various sectors, including healthcare, human services, education, clergy, business, and community members. Our shared vision is to make Robeson County the healthiest county in North Carolina. Since its establishment in 1997 and obtaining certification as an NC State Healthy Carolinian Task Force in 1998, our coalition has been committed to addressing critical health issues without unnecessary duplication. We conduct a thorough community health assessment every three years to gather the community's perspective on local health priorities. This valuable insight guides the development of a strategic plan aimed at eliminating health disparities among minorities and underserved populations in Robeson County and the surrounding region. Together, we can bring about positive and lasting change for the well-being of all our residents.
Telehealth Booth
CHEC is the host site of a telehealth booth. The telehealth booth offers a private, equipped space where patients can connect with healthcare professionals remotely. The booth is equipped with a temperature sensor, and a monitor with a webcam, and is soundproof to ensure total patient privacy. Multiple training events have occurred to train patients to ensure they know how to use the equipment and navigate MyUNCChart. The telehealth booth can allow patients who do not have access to the internet or technology at home to still connect with telemedicine doctors and prioritize their health.
