National Donate Life Month's Pause to Give Life Observed
UNC Health Southeastern observed National Donate Life Month by participating in an HonorBridge flag-raising ceremony and moment of silence to honor organ donors and their families and promote the mission of organ, tissue, and eye donation. The Donate Life flag was raised 10:08 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5 in front of Rust Tower at UNC Health Southeastern to highlight the fact that 1 donor can save 8 lives. Also at this time, teammates were encouraged to observe a moment of silence for 30 seconds to recognize the more than 3,000 patients waiting for a life-saving transplant in North Carolina.
