Meet Family Nurse Practitioner Deanna Stephens

Deanna Stephens, FNP

Family Nurse Practitioner Deanna Stephens has transitioned to an Advanced Practice Provider with UNC Health Southeastern Cardiology and Cardiovascular Care, where she worked for five years as a clinic nurse and, most recently, as a device nurse. She also worked as a respiratory therapist for three years and as a nurse in a variety of clinical settings for 27 years.

“I have developed a special interest in cardiology, specifically electrophysiology, during the last five years with the cardiology clinic,” said Stephens. “I enjoy working with patients that have pacemakers, defibrillators, and heart arrhythmias.”

Stephens began her education at Robeson Community College with a respiratory therapy degree in 1994 and then a nursing degree in 1996. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Fayetteville State University in 2011 and a master’s degree with family nurse practitioner training from Walden University in 2022.

“I believe in educating patients about their health to make sure they understand their condition and how to make it better to improve their daily lives,” added Stephens, who believes in going the extra mile for patients.

Stephens is excited to serve Robeson County patients in her new role as she has lived here most of her life and is happy that she can contribute
in any way that improves the lives of others. Her personal interests include going to the beach and spending time with her family.
