Meet Family Nurse Practitioner Danielle Brooks
Family Nurse Practitioner Danielle Brooks provides care at UNC Health Specialty Care at The Oaks.
Brooks, a Robeson County native and resident, completed an associate degree in nursing from Robeson Community College in 2013, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2019, and a master’s degree in nursing-family nurse practitioner from Chamberlain University earlier this year. She has 13 years of experience in health care, with 10 years of nursing in the ICU at UNC Health Southeastern.
“I have a special love and desire to help the people in my community - Robeson County,” said Brooks. “We have several comorbidities in our region, including diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. My desire is to bridge the education gap that exists with these health conditions, and help patients live in that preventative state as long as possible while assisting others to improve their numbers and their lifestyles.”
Brooks provides routine health exams, preventative services, and manages chronic health care conditions.
“My goal is to have a trusting relationship with my patients,” says Brooks. “I hope to improve gaps in care through shared decision making while taking a holistic care approach to the needs of the individual.”
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors including camping and kayaking with her husband, Tron, and three kids, Bryleigh, Carter Rhett, and Tucker.
