Lighting Ceremony Cancelled Due to Weather Concerns
UNC Health Southeastern’s Lighting of the Pink Ribbon ceremony, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 3, has been cancelled due to weather-related hindrances in preparations as well as predicted inclement weather, including colder temperatures and rain. Because many of the event participants and attendees are cancer survivors, it would not be in their best interest to proceed with an outdoor event.
When conditions allow, the pink ribbon atop UNC Health Southeastern will be lit and remain lit throughout October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. UNC Health Southeastern plans to publish a video of a previous ribbon lighting on the UNC Health Southeastern Facebook page the week of October 3 to mark the month-long observance.
