COVID-19 vaccine walk-in or scheduled opportunities for March 15-20; new phase opens March 17

Beginning Wednesday, March 17, individuals 16-64 years of age with one or more high-risk medical conditions and those living in a close group setting in homeless shelters or correctional facilities will be eligible to receive first-dose COVID-19 vaccinations along with those in previous phases, including frontline essential workers, health professionals, and individuals age 65 and over. Those who are newly eligible in Phase 4 may begin scheduling first-dose COVID-19 vaccination appointments at srmc.org on Monday, March 15. Those in previous phases may continue to schedule through the website. Eligible individuals may also walk in for vaccinations, as long as daily allocation supplies last, at the following locations, dates and times. There is no cost to the patient for the vaccine.

Monday, March 15

8 am to 5 pm: Southeastern COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic, 2901 North Elm Street, Lumberton

Wednesday, March 17 (first day of vaccinations for Phase 4)

8 am to 5 pm: Southeastern COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic, 2901 North Elm Street, Lumberton

Thursday, March 18

8 am to 5 pm: Southeastern COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic, 2901 North Elm Street, Lumberton

Friday, March 19

8 am to 5 pm: Southeastern COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic, 2901 North Elm Street, Lumberton

1 to 5 pm: Southeastern COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic Pembroke, 812 Candy Park Road, Suite 5103, Pembroke

Saturday, March 20

8 am to 5 pm: Southeastern COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic, 2901 North Elm Street, Lumberton

According to NC DHHS, high-risk medical conditions covered in Phase 4 include:

  • Asthma (moderate to severe)
  • Cancer
  • Cerebrovascular disease or history of stroke
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Diabetes type 1 or 2
  • A heart condition such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy
  • Hypertension or high blood pressure
  • Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from: immune deficiencies, HIV, taking chronic steroids or other immune weakening medicines, history of solid organ blood or bone marrow transplant
  • Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, including Down Syndrome
  • Liver disease, including hepatitis
  • Neurologic conditions, such as dementia and schizophrenia
  • Pulmonary fibrosis
  • Overweight or obesity (CDC definition: https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/adult/defining.html)
  • Pregnancy
  • Sickle cell disease (not including sickle cell trait) or thalassemia
  • Smoking (current or former, defined as having smoked at least 100 cigarettes in their lifetime)

Anyone who would like to schedule an appointment in advance may visit srmc.org and click on “Get Vaccinated.” Please note that individuals who register as a MyChart Guest when scheduling their appointment will not receive a confirmation notice via email or text. If an appointment needs to be cancelled or changed due to scheduling issues or other factors that may arise, those who registered as a guest should email vaccine@srmc.org to request appointment adjustments.
